DetailsRose Moss (rhodobryum ontariense) is a spectacular looking moss that resembles a flower. Rose Moss can add the perfect accent or center piece to any enclosed terrarium build. Rose Moss can be found growing in shady woodland on the ground or calcerous rocks.
Rose Moss like all mosses don't have a root system, they have tiny hair like strands called Rhyzoids, which they use to grip to surfaces and substrates. Instead of roots, moss soaks up water through their tiny leaves which makes them ideal candidates for terrariums and other humid setups, like paludariums, vivariums, and ripariums. Although survival is never guaranteed.
All my moss is grown and harvested from it's natural environment in Southwestern Vermont in humus rich woodland.
All mosses are hand picked, cleaned and soaked by myself in fresh mountain water. I do my best to pick out all the pine needles, twigs and foliage but some may remain, along with tiny hitchhikers.
You will receive a similar amount shown in the pictures in a sealed bag (20+ peices/florets)
Moss can withstand freezing temperatures and ships extremely well. Unfortunately I can't ship moss internationally at this time. -
